Publisher Mohawk Media accepting artist and penciler submissions!

As the mighty comic book media site, NEWSARAMA, is now reporting, we are seeking artists for upcoming comic book and graphic novel projects.

Here is what we recommend:


·A brief email about yourself and any published experience, accompanied by a minimum of 5 sequential pages

·Story pages only (no pinups, paintings or portraits)

·Your strongest – and preferably, recent – work

·A variety of genres if possible

·Samples in jpeg or PDF format only. Links will not be opened

·All submissions to chris@mohawkmedia.co.uk


Again, please do not send links: we do NOT open these: samples to be sent as jpeg or pdf attachments.

This is a storytelling medium, so please send story pages (pinups etc are not helpful at this stage).

A variety of genre samples is advantageous, as it gives us a clearer overview of your strengths and range.

You must show a deft command of the many elements of good comic book storytelling: areas upcoming artists frequently overlook include anatomy and background detail.

We strongly suggest pencil samples only. A talented penciler, who may not be as equally skilful with inking or coloring, can often adversely affect his or her own work.

On this basis, ideally we would prefer artists with some published experience, even if only small press etc, but that said, we will consider every submission on an individual basis and on its own merits.

Should we decide that you may be suitable, we may ask for a short tryout.
